Unlike bifocal glasses that have a line, multifocal contacts use Simultaneous Vision Technology. The lens has concentric zones of distance, intermediate, and near power. Your brain naturally learns to select the clear image for the object you are looking at, whether it's a road sign or a text message.
Designed for patients who have Presbyopia (trouble reading) but do not have significant Astigmatism. They correct distance and near vision simultaneously using advanced optical zones.
A highly specialized lens that corrects Astigmatism AND Presbyopia at the same time. This is a complex fit because the lens must stay stable (not rotate) to correct the astigmatism while providing the multi-zone optics for reading. We specialize in these difficult fits.

Concentric ring design allows focus at all distances.
Lifestyle Freedom
If you are new to needing reading help (Presbyopia), you don't have to surrender to reading glasses ("cheaters"). Multifocal contact lenses restore your natural range of vision, allowing you to live life without interruption.
Read the menu in dim restaurant lighting without fumbling for reading glasses or using your phone flashlight.
Look your best at weddings and parties. See faces clearly across the room and read your phone without putting on frames.
Check your smart watch while running, golfing, or playing tennis without glasses slipping down your nose or breaking stride.
We fit the latest lenses designed for digital lifestyles and complex prescriptions.

The Art of Fitting
Multifocal lenses are not "one size fits all." Dr. Fouladian performs a specialized evaluation to ensure success:
Pupil Size Mapping: We measure your pupil size in different lighting. If the lens zones don't match your pupil, you won't see clearly.
Sensory Dominance: We determine which eye leads for distance and which aids in near tasks to balance the prescription perfectly.
Tear Film Stability: A dry surface causes fluctuating vision. We treat dryness *before* fitting to ensure stable optics.
Dr. Fouladian believes in honest education. He discusses the concept of "Neuro-Adaptation" with every patient.
Shadows are Normal: You may see slight "ghosting" or shadows around letters for the first week as your brain learns to filter the multiple images.
Lighting Matters: You will need more light to read small print initially, as the "near" zone of the lens is smaller than a pair of reading glasses.
The Goal: The aim is functional vision—being able to see your phone, dashboard, and computer 90% of the time without glasses, not necessarily "microscope" vision.
